The head of the Republic of Macedonia's Parliament, Talat Xhaferi, does not give up the idea of the Parliament having five vice-presidents, not three in the last term. To that end, at the plenary session scheduled for September 4th, the 9th proposal has been put in place to verify the number of deputy chairmans of the Republic of Macedonia.
This was one of the issues the MPs of the parliamentary majority and the opposition, where the government -- calling the Law for Parliament and Order -- says the Assembly should have five deputy speakers, while O deputies BRM-PDUKM claimed that the Assembly should not waste budget tools unnecessaryly for five deputy speakers. According to them, the parliamentary majority tries to deploy five deputy speakers just to fulfil promises to coalition partners.
Chairman Xhaferi, the starting point for his deputy appointment, removed him from the agenda in July in order to speed up the session for the dismissal of Prosecutor Marko Zvelevski and the budget rebalancing.
According to the Parliament's Job Order, the number of deputy heads puts the Assembly, following the Parliamentary Speaker's proposal and one of them should be from the ranks of the largest opposition party represented in the Parliament.
