Students Charlene, 14, of Blackpool, disappeared in November 2003.

No trace of it has been found since then, but detectives believe that her body had been crushed into a kebabia somewhere away from the city.

Lancashire police announced a breakthrough after arresting a 51-year-old who lived in Blackpool at the time of Charlene's disappearance was arrested this morning on suspicion of her murder.

Last month, the victim's family reportedly will sue the investigative police, as they had access to some images of CCTV, but they had never shown them, with cases exasperating 14-year-old Charlene's mother, reports The Sun<18x1>, broadcasting Periscopi.

Charlene's mother, Karen, is reportedly taking legal action for investigators as these were sitting in their archives for over a decade and have not found a suspect in her daughter's murder.

CCTV images have shown Charlie walking with her sister Rebecca on the day she disappeared.

Karen said about the Daily Mirror: “It's amazing that they've had those images all these years and they've never used”.

The “is an absolute disgrace and an insult to the memory of my dead daughter”, she said.

Officials from the Lancashire Police have received more than 4,800 witness statements and have followed 10,500 investigation tracks, but the case remains unresolved.

Detectives suspect Charlene may have been the victim of sexual exploitation in Blackpool.

These are Britain's most famous unsolved murders, which have left police officers amazed./Periscopi/

Years after her progression it was revealed that Charlie was one of a number of schools who had been scared for sex
