A journalist with the economic daily RBK, a member of a Russian nationalist group, was sentenced today to three and a half years in prison for extremism, Russian news agencies Alexander Sokolov reported, were arrested in July 2015 with two others.
They appeared before the tribunal on charges of creating a grouping with the appointment “for a reasonable government” to resume the activities of another group, the People's Will Army (AVN), banned for “rexremism” on the part of authorities in 2010.
The leader of this group, Iouri Moukhine, received a four-year prison sentence on bail, while the other two persons -- Serguei Barabach and Valeri Parfionov -- were sentenced to four years in prison, according to Russian news agencies.
Their organisation criticised President Vladimir Putin's policy, denouncing corruption in Russia and supporting Eastern separatists in Ukraine in conflict with Kiev forces.
