Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, has named Moscow's new ambassador to Washington today, instead of Sergei Kislyak, announces the Kremlin.
Russia's new ambassador to the US will be Russia's deputy foreign minister, Anatoly Antonov, broadcasting Express.
Kislyak served for more than nine years as Moscow's envoy to Washington.
The 62-year-old diplomat will replace Sergey Kislyak, who tops the maintenance of Russia- The US for almost a decade before the meeting ended its mandate in July of this year, Express writes.
During the last year as ambassador, Kislyak was at the center of the U.S. media's attention due to his contacts with several officials of the Trump administration.
Critics of Trump assume that contacts with the Russian diplomat show there have been secret co-operation between Trump and Kremlin team, which is accused of having influenced the US presidential elections 2016 in favour of Republican Trump.
