A road bomb, which has targeted a convoy of military troops in southwest Pakistan, has left six soldiers dead and injured at least two others, officials have said.
The attack on the province of Baluccistan has come as the country was celebrating its 70th anniversary of independence.
The “was a very powerful bomb attack”, said the spokesman for the paramilitary forces, Khan Wasseh, via phone.
The militant organisation, the Baluccistan Liberation Army, claimed responsibility for the attack, has reported AFP.
This is the second attack with security forces in this region within three days, after a street bomb in Quetta has left at least 15 soldiers and civilians dead on August 12th.
Baluccistan is located on the border with Afghanistan and Iran and is known as Pakistan's most unstable province.
There are various attacks on this section by militant Sunita groups, such as the Taliban, who seek the release of their province from Islamabad, reports Free Europe.
