In local elections, which will be held on 22 October, almost all political parties have run their candidates for mayors while interesting races in all Kosovo municipalities are expected.
The hottest race is expected to be in the capital, where incumbent Shpend Ahmeti from Vetevendosje Movement will face Arba Abrasin from the LDK, acting and Social Goods Minister Lirak Celiaj from the PDK, Arber Vladhiun from the AAK, Shyceri Bytyqi from the Initiative, as well as Rift up from the Alternative.
The heat will also be in Prizren, where the PDK competes with Shaqir Totaj, LDK with Hatim Baxak, Vetevendosje with Mytaher Haskuka and Initiative with Zafir Berisha.
It will also be in Gjilan, where current Mayor Haziri counterCandidia has PDK Zenun Pajazit, his deputy chairman, Rexhep Kadriun from AAK and Sami Kurtesh of VV.
Even at Ferizaj Muharrem Sfarqa faces the PDK's Agim Ali, the VV's Faton Topallin and Xhavit Zariqi from the AAK.
