Authorities in Kosovo say they have arrested two people suspected of trying to join extremist groups in Syria and Iraq.
A court in Pristina has accused them of trying to unite with Islamic groups in the armed conflict, and yesterday has ordered detention for a month.
In a government statement, the suspects, identified only by initials A.D. and K.B., had tried to cross to Syria from Turkey, where they were occupied by Turkish forces, the AP agency reported.
They have returned from Istanbul to Kosovo.
If convicted, they could be sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Authorities in Kosovo say approximately 70 citizens are considered fighting for extremist groups in Syria and Iraq.
