During the first half of the year in Austria, close to 4,700 foreigners have received passports from this country. The largest number of young Austrian citizens make up Bosniaks with 698, and behind them came Turks with 456 and Kosovars with 319 people, the Austrian news agency APA reported, writes albinfo.ch.ch.
This number has seen a 9.6 percent increase in this category compared to the same period a year ago. More precisely: During the six months of 2017, there have been 695, while during the same period in 2016, 4285 people who have won the Austrian passport.
More than a third of the naturalised or 35.9% of them are born in Austria. Over half of all naturalizations, or 2625 sosh, have been made on the basis of legal law. Of them 1689 people have won this status after staying for at least six years in Austria or for special causes (Birth in Austria, asylum rights or citizenship of another EU country.
The largest increase in this category of citizens during the period in question, 42.1%, has had the capital, Vienna. Here the number of naturalized for six months has been 2019.
