KEK's work, Shipilla residents warn violent protests

Excavors ceased only during the protest of the inhabitants of this village.

Ardian Medici, representative of the Medki Quarter, says their protest could become violent if KEK does not stop the work until they reach expropriation agreement.

Ardian's fellow villager, Saim Krasniqi, says KEK is refusing to employ its residents. Only in his neighborhood are 52 families who expect to be employed by a family member in this corporation.

Last week, the incumbent government approved the Environment Ministry's proposal and Spatial Planning for the expropriation of real estate in Hade and Shirley.

These cadastral areas are affected by the implementation of a mine project that meets KEK's needs for coal.
