German journalist could be sentenced to over 15 years in Turkish prison

German journalist Mesale Tolu Corlu could be sentenced to over 15 years in prison if convicted on terrorism-related charges, news agency reported, E THA, quoting her lawyer. German journalist Mesale Tolu Corlu could be sentenced to over 15 years in prison if convicted on terrorism-related charges, news agency reported, E THA, quoting her lawyer.
Tolu, journalist and translator for ETHEA, was arrested on 30 April at her apartment in Istanbul, and faces charges of terrorist propaganda and membership in a terrorist organisation.
Tolu has German citizenship, not Deniz Yucel, who is imprisoned in Silivri.
Yucel, correspondent of the German newspaper” Die Welt”, has been in custody since February, Pash passes.
The trial against Tolu is expected to begin on 11 October.
Germany has sought the release of Tolus, Yucel, as well as human rights activist Peter Steudtner.
