The German Embassy in Kosovo in an interview for Television through the Department of Policy, Media, Culture and Protocol provided journalist Muhamet Hajrullahu has said that Kosovo has a lot of work ahead and must create institutions as soon as possible because there is no time to lose.

The German Embassy advises political parties to spend little energy on slandering the relevant political opponent and more energy on constructive compromises acceptable.

graphy: What is the German Embassy's position in Pristina for delays in establishing institutions, such as the Parliament and Government, following the June 11th elections?

German Embassy: Kosovo is facing many urgent challenges. Treating them requires a functioning government. We hope that institutions will be established soon as Kosovo has no time to lose.

graphy: How do you assess political disagreements about institution creation, and how will these affect the lives of Kosovo citizens?

German Embassy: In a parliamentary democracy, elected representatives have responsibility towards their voters. They must translate election results into a constructive parliamentary majority.

This requires compromises for the sake of the country and its population. Many immediate challenges, such as boosting the country's economy and hiring or reforming the health care system, have a direct impact on the daily lives of Kosovo citizens.

It is important that elected representatives honor the trust of their voters and soon form a government that can address (treat) these challenges.

graphy: What is the German Embassy's advice to move forward with government creation?

German Embassy: Our advice would be: Less energy for slandering the current political opponent and more energy for acceptable constructive compromises.

graphy: Can friend states like Germany be helped to resolve the political crisis?

German Embassy: It is Kosovo's elected representatives who have brought about this crisis and must be responsible for finding a way forward. Germany will work with any government representing the majority in Parliament. We will continue to support Kosovo and its citizens towards a prosperous future in Europe.

graphy: If PAN ( PDK- AAK- NISMA) fails to create Government can the second VV ( Vetevendosje) party do so with other subjects, or should you go to the polls?

German Embassy: Kosovo's constitution defines the way a new government can be established. One thing is clear: a majority of at least 61 mandates are needed. Apparently right now this is not happening by either side. /Telegraphy/
