Police said they shot the suspect who attacked several people in the southwest town of Turk.
He was taken into custody after he was shot in the leg.
The incident was reportedly held in the Puutori-Market area. Police have warned that other attackers may be at large and urged people to stay away from the city centre.
Turkish University Hospital Director Petri Virolainen told reporters that at least eight people had been sent with injuries and that one person had died.
