He alarmed the Italian police after they escaped from the hospital where he was being treated. By media Italian, Albanian, had been arrested after a long police chase in Splotore, for stealing a car “Audi A6”.
But during the pursuit, because of the high speed and that the Albanian did not stop them, agents were forced to shoot at him.
The 23-year-old lost control of the car and was injured. He was taken to the Chiet hospital for treatment and guarded by officers.
While in the hospital, De Gaetano planned to escape. He called the nurse asking for help and then attacked two police officers who were guarding his room. The exact circumstances of the attack are unclear, but Italian media record that the two officers have suffered injuries and are hospitalised.
Authorities published a photo of the Albanian in the media, calling on citizens to be careful if they see him as dangerous and immediately inform police of his whereabouts. The media write that it is 1 meter and 83cm long and has facial marks due to injury.
