The Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK), through a communique for the media, has called on citizens to profit from the forgiveness of debts, reminding them that the timetable is closed on September 1st and that after that date they will not be able to realise that right.
All the physical and legal persons who owe ATK until December 31st 2008 can benefit from debt forgiveness if they meet the criteria and are subjected to the pre-accession procedures by ATK for pardoning debts.
ATK has identified all persons who have unspoiled obligations and who can benefit from pardoning public debts for the period until December 31st, 2008.
Out of public debt for the period of December 31st 2008, under this law benefits all persons who have unremarked obligations to ATK, provided the same fulfills the full payment of obligations for January 1st 2009 to December 31, 2014.
The total payment of the province could be made by September 1, 2017. Such individuals, in addition to the overall debt pardon for the period until December 31st 2008, will benefit from the forgiveness of fines, penalties, interest and any other obligation stemming from no payment due time of basic debt for the period 1 January 2009 to December 31, 2014.
ATK reports that if full payment is not paid, such persons could link agreements with the Kosovo Tax Administration by September 1st 2017, for paying debts in installments for the period 1 January 2009 to December 31st 2014.
In the event when the agreement is reached, these persons, in addition to the overall debt pardon for the period until December 31st 2008, will also benefit by pardoning penalties for January 1st 2009 through December 31st 2014.
The persons who connect agreements and do not respect the terms of the agreement, ATK will put them on the debt list, making them responsible for all remaining debts in accordance with legal requirements that have been applicable before the deal is binding.
Unremarked debts until December 31st 2008, where the total amount of basic debt is in small value of 1 to 100 euros, automatically hide.
The demand for participation in the public debt pardon programme can be found in the relevant regional office of the Kosovo Tax Administration.
