In Albania, women on average are paid 6.3% less than men, but there are also some sectors, where females are paid more than men.

INSTAT has published the table of the gender margin of the average gross monthly salary for a wage employee according to economic activities.

The sector where women have <x0-cyclusivity” of good pay, in proportion to men is that of “art, entertainment and entertainment”, where women are paid nearly 30% more than men.

“Administrative targets and Support Services” are the second sector where women have a pay priority, with 13% more than men.

Even in energy companies, women are paid.

Construction, international organisations, food service, are some sectors where females are paid equally to men.

From 22 sectors, reporting I NSTAT, in only 8 of them, women receive higher wages.

Men are better paid in the real estate sector, with 25% more and in the processing industry, by 23.3% difference.

Male doctors also turn out to be preferred in terms of payment.

During 2015 the number of women, owners of new businesses, multiplied significantly compared to the previous two years. According to GDP data, in 2015 women were 100% owners of over 13,000 new businesses from about 1.520 in 2014.

The figures are optimistic and show that more and more, Albanian women are investing in increasing their economic independence.

In the public sector, women make up the highest percentage of employment in positions such as ordinary professionals or employees who are paid much less than positions such as lawmakers, senior officials, directors, policymakers, etc., which are most often held by males. /Monitor
