Will Merkel use the G20 to re-elected Chancellor?

Now, Merkel hopes to win the fourth mandate by strengthening her image as a stable force in a troubled world and demonstrating her skills on the world stage.
Merkel will head the international forum of the top 20 economies, the G20, to Hamburg next week.
“Merkel is for continuation and stability”, said Peter Matuschek of polling company “Forsa” in Berlin, pointing to the global uncertainty of Brex, the White House of Trump and global terrorism.
“Merkel has created the image of the crisis Chancellor, involved in a series of crises that have hit Europe, such as Greece's” crisis, Matushek added.
But after US President Donald Trump took a tough stand on recent summits on trade, climate change and defence, there is a big risk for Merkel that he could take control of during the G20 summit next week.
At the same time, three months before Germany's elections, Trump in a way has given Merkel priority.
Leaving the Paris Agreement on Climate 2015 and favouring national economic interests, Trump has helped Chancellor Merkel to be portrayed to voters as the environmental champion, the mighty Europe and global co-operation, which enjoy wide support in Germany.
A poll released last month by public television ZDF found that 80 percent of Germans view Trump as a danger to global co-operation in climate change issues, terrorism and the refugee crisis.
A record 68 percent of respondents said US-German relations were in poor condition.
Although on the eve of Germany's elections, Merkel has regularly criticised the US leader for his plans and views on the world.
During a speech, recently at the Munich Security Conference on the transatlantic Alliance Merkel warned its supporters that “have come times where we cannot rely on others”.
She added that “Europeans really need to take fate in our hands”.
Just a year ago, Merkel tried to recover from a harsh political response against her decision in September 2015 to open Germany's borders to allow about 8900,000 refugees in the country, even causing speculation that she would not participate in parliamentary elections this year.
But, after three impressive state gains, opinion polls are now showing that it has built a command advantage over its opponents before the September 24th German elections, which will also strengthen its negotiating position in Hamburg.
Named by the media as the leader of the free world, Merkel has already avoided the threat posed by Trump's national economic stance, creating a new international alliance.
Merkel is mobilizing the alliance, which includes countries such as China, France and Latin American states, to ensure their support for free trade and efforts to reach an agreement on global warming.
This is not the first time a German leader has sought to promote an election campaign, taking advantage of Germany's anger over the American president's stance on world affairs.
In 2002, Merkel's predecessor, Social Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, formed an alliance with France and Russia to oppose the war of then US President George W Bush in Iraq.
Since coming to power in 2005, Merkel has walked in the footsteps of her predecessors to increase Germany's global influence as the most important country, with Europe's largest economic economy.
At the same time, Merkel has tried to create a diplomatic bridge between Russia and the West.
Also, this move from Merkel could be jeopardised, because of its role as leader it would face resolution of the debt crisis in the eurozone and Russia over its intervention in Ukraine, helping it become Europe's most powerful leader.
Or maybe Merkel has already strengthened her position.
American magazine “Forbes” called it one of the three biggest leaders in the world after President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
