Some female officers trained for martial arts have begun to take to the streets of Jaipur City to combat sexual violence.

They control colleges, bus stations, and parks, since more sexual abuse is thought to be done.

More than 400,000 rapes are recorded in India each year, but many are not reported.

This is very good because men will be scared when they see these women on the street. If a man gets hit hard, others will feel the fear of a mistake. So I think it's a good idea,” said a man about the BBC.

Officers have warned women that help will come only through a call or a message to the social app network very soon. Victims may be afraid to report sexual crime to the police force, so women have been selected for the task.

It is thought that this idea came after a student in 2012 passed away after being raped on a bus in Delhi.
