During a speech to parliament in Ankara, Erdogan warned Germany that Turkey would not show respect for it, the DPA reports.
On 5 July, Steudtner was arrested by Turkish authorities along with nine human rights activists, including Idil Eser, director of “Amnesty International” in Turkey, Ali Gharavi in Sweden and Peter Steudtner in Germany, during a conference on digital security, held in Istanbul.
Germany has been among the European countries, which imposed measures to prevent rallies organised by Turkish politicians on German soil.
Currently, Turkey is keeping two German journalists in custody.
During his speech, Erdogan insisted that Western countries cannot threaten Turkey or seek to impose their will on the country.
He stressed that no German company in Turkey is currently under investigation, calling reports concerning this false issue.
This week, Germany said Turkey has investigated about 700 German companies suspected of supporting terrorism.
For its part, Turkey said the list of German companies under investigation was the result of a communication mistake.
