Next year, 200 million railway project begins at Ferizaj

Early in 2018, the 200 million railway investment project in the town of Ferizaj is expected to begin. The technical and procedural aspect is in progress.

More than 10 prestigious international companies are in the race for reconstruction of the 150-mile-long truck. The selection of the winning company is expected within two months. The circulation in this section of the railway at Ferizaj except that poses danger remains the most frequent.

Train accidents are frequent, even fatal. But with the railway reconstruction project, this section of Ferizaj is expected to be treated on the basis of a study that will provide an engineering solution with trains, reports public television.

A tunnel is expected to be built in this section, or the railways enter underground or move from the city.

Solutions have been discussed between Government and Railway Directors as well as donors.

The Corridor 10 reconstruction project, or as it is otherwise known as the longest railway line in Kosovo, includes Elesey-Kosovo-Lesshak's Hani Transport. Their reconstruction is expected to be ready in a three-year period.

Investments for this part of the railway have already been secured. There are over 200m euros that have been contracted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Bank for European Investment, the Government of Kosovo and the European Commission grants.
