And this has led the UPP to seek its own suspension of 5 programmes at the Education School.
This has been confirmed for Online Economics, Hysen Bytyqi, the teacher for teaching at the UP, who has said that despite the importance of this university still faces a lack of academic staff, which would cover research programmes.
Pristina's “University, even though with the longest tradition the largest and most important institution in Kosovo, we continue to have serious problems with staffing or covering the study programme in terms of professionalism. We have tried several times to open new jobs as much as Pristina University needs. Normal can't open up for any program, direction because we don't have standards for as many professors as required. We have applied to the Ministry of Finance, but that is not allowed to”, he said.
Bytyqi has shown that of the 28 programs he has competed with UP, 14 percent of them have been rejected.
We have been competing with 28 programmes as Pristina Universities. 21 of them have been re-accredited that these programmes have had a third-year-old accreditment, and some of them even five years old. And seven new programs that UP has seen fit to apply with new programs. Of the 28 programmes we have applied, 4 of them have been rejected and that percentage is 14%. Of them from 21 programs that we applied for reaccreditation 3 of them received negative answers to further research on these programmes and 7 new programs that we applied for accreditation a program or 14% received negative”, Bytyqi indicated.
Most of his suspensions, however, have resulted from the existence of two same programs.
He has even shown that for 5 programs at the Education School, he has sought to suspend himself because of the same programs that were previously accredited, which students have not wanted to continue with.
The general number of applications suspended at Pristina University is 23 programmes, and that at least 5 of them are willing to stop and that's the reason. For example, four educational faculty programs because we have accredited programs the same as 120 loans. We have given up because there are no students to be involved now, we have given up on programs that have been the same but on six loans and we have not needed to dulyy something that we have but with different loans”, he said.
He has said that the selection for accreditation by the State Quality Commission has been made in three phases.
At the University of Pristina “Pristina” there are a total of 23 programmes that were suspended by the KSHC, of them three doctorate programmes, two at the Economic Faculty and one at the Faculty of Philology.
