The Syrian government said the US warning not to carry out a new chemical weapons attack was groundless and a ruse to justify a new attack on the country, Syria state television said.
On the other hand, the White House warned Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday that he and his army would pay a heavy price if they conduct a chemical gun attack, Reuters reports, Periscopi broadcasts.
