billionaire Donald Trump's presidency has caused a major impact on the way the world views the United States.
So suggests a study conducted by the Pew Research Center, which has questioned over 400,000 people in 37 countries around the world since the beginning of the year.
The study has concluded that the American president and his policies are “in large unpopular mass across the globe”.
The study also shows that only 2 out of 37 countries have a more positive opinion of Mr. Trump than of his predecessor, Barack Obama. They are Israel and Russia.
But the report shows that many interviewed believe that their country's relations with the United States will not change in the years to come.
The main findings from the poll conducted during February 16th-8th include the fact that people have less trust in Trump compared to Obama.
People, interviewed at the end of Obama's 8-year term and after the start of Trump's mandate, have been asked if they were confident that the president would do the right thing for world problems.
With taking office, Trump wasted no time in making clear to allied countries that he expected to increase their contributions to NATO.
His presidency shocked relations with the old allies, among which Chancellor Angela Merkel's Germany, which after meeting with Trump said, “Europe can no longer rely on its old ally”.
It's actually right between the Allied countries that trust has fallen. While during the Obama presidency the Germans trusted in The U.S. was 86 percent, only 11 percent now trust President Trump.
Asked about all its characteristics, President Trump is widely seen as a arrogant man”, Pew's report says.
In 26 of the 37 countries involved in the survey, more than half of the respondents consider him a dangerous person.
Trump is seen as a strong leader mainly in Latin American and African countries, but few are those countries they consider qualified to be president.
In the majority Muslim countries, which Trump has banned from travel to the US, it is very unpopular. In Jordan, residents who do not approve of its policies are 96 percent; in Lebanon 88 percent; in Senegal 82 percent.
The study further suggests that even at “his home” Trump is not viewed with a good eye, since support of his image has remained at a low level since he took office.
Only 39 percent of Americans believe that he is doing a good job, with a 7 - percent decline in black voters. /ToopChannel/
