The Central Bank of Ukraine has announced that a number of public and private sector banks and businesses have been the target of cyber attacks by the unknown “virus”). “As a result of these attacks, some banks have faced problems providing services to clients”, is said through notification, without specifying the name of any institution.
The Central Bank is convinced it has set up safeguard clauses against such attacks and the situation will normalise” is further added in the announcement.
Ukraine has blamed Russia for previous cyber attacks.
Relations between these two countries have collapsed in 2014 after Russia annexed the Crimea and supports the separatiss east of Ukraine.
