Over 30 deputies, who sit in the Kosovo Assembly seats for the first time, are estimated to be an added value for Kosovo.
The Kosovo Democratic Institute over the years monitors the work of the Assembly.
Analyst from this Institute, Albert Krasniqi told Radio Free Europe that new political figures in the Assembly are considered professionals in certain areas, and as such, professionalising them can decide in the service of the Assembly.
“On the basis of the lists that have been announced by the Central Election Commission, we can say there is a dose of optimism when we talk about MPs from the new Kosovo Assembly legislature, about the fact that there are 32 MPs who will for the first time sit in the seats of MPs.”.
“It is expected that these individuals will bring new energy, refresh the Assembly, and, more so, are public figures who have been engaged in other positions”, Krasniqi said.
In one of the issues Kosovo's Assembly has failed in the past legislatures, Krasniqi has been named to be the supervision of the Government, and, according to him, on these issues it would have to guide more energy from the future legislature.
MPs from the new Kosovo Assembly legislature, Krasniqi adds, overseeing the country's government, will influence improving citizens' lives.
Meanwhile, Valmir Ishmael, analyst from nongovernmental organisation “Democracy Plus”, says the large number of new MPs in the new composition of the Assembly is a hope for change.
“That's positive. We expect new energy from some faces that have only been public faces and were critical of their positions in the past. I expect them, whether they are in power or in opposition, to be a different voice in the Kosovo Assembly. If we have considered the past seat the worst legislature, in this legislature from new faces it could be considered one of the best legislatures we should have”, Ismajli points out.
In the sixth legislature Kosovo AssemblyDemocratic Party of Kosovo coalition, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Initiative Party has won 39 seats, Vetevendosje Movement has won 32 seats, while the coalition of the Democratic League of Kosovo with the New Kosovo Alliance and the 29-seat alternative.
From minority communities, the Serbian List has won 9 seats, while the Independent Liberal Party has taken a seat. Likewise, non-Serb communities have been divided into 10 guaranteed seats.
Analyst Albert Krasniqi stresses that one is seen in these parliamentary elections Punishment of nearly half the deputies of the previous legislature, who were not active and failed to be re-elected for a second term.
“This points to an emancipation of voters and a punitive vote for MPs who have not been active, and the public has not estimated they deserve another case. This is also a message for new deputies to be actively involved and not to stay in the Assembly just to go, but to have a much greater involvement and contribute to Government oversight and the drafting of quality laws”, Krasniqi points out.
Thus far, Kosovo's original legislation, by civil society, was named by the most sluggish so far, when it comes to decision-making, fulfilling the agenda and adopting laws.
