According to him, prior to this establishment, the Kosovo Court has reached an agreement with the EU, which has allocated 300m euros. Also, financial means, as he said, have shared the United States.
The number two of Kosovo Parliament, Xhavit Haliti, sees as difficult the initiative of MPs to abolish the Special Court Law.
Haliti has declared to the newspaper “Voice” that prior to this establishment, the Kosovo Court has made arrangements with the European Union, which has allocated 300m euros.
“Special empowerment is not an easy process. We as a state have an agreement with the European Union, which has allocated 300m euros to the Special Court. As far as I know, the U.S. has shared part of the tools for the Court. Third, Kosovo has made an agreement with the Netherlands on this issue, and this EU state has approved the agreement. It is not easy for us to take steps, which break all these agreements”, has made Haliti known.
But Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, during an interview for The REL has stated it does not encourage MPs about this initiative, but if the Assembly approved it it would be signed as president.
The deputies' “Nism for the Special Court is not a request to challenge the Court, but it is alternative, as do other former Yugoslav countries: Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia” has stated in an interview for “Radio Free Europe” Kosovo President Hashim Thaci.
