Vuciq: More Serbs in Croatia than Croats; American diplomats warn

According to information from this newspaper, referring to the sources of Croatia's former president's cabinet, two offices have repeatedly contacted and discussed details of the visit. The same source says it is more hesitant to say that Vuciki's visit to Zagreb will come “over next year”.

The recent tension between the two neighbouring countries came after Vuciqi's statement during a performance on Pink television, saying there were more Serbs in Croatia than Croats, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.

“I apologize for telling you the truth,” added Serbia's president.

As noted in this tract, American and Russian diplomats, who reportedly warned Vucinj “remove the ball on the ground to avoid new tensions”.

The Croatian president also reportedly believes dialogue between Croatia and Serbia is necessary as a precondition for resolving open issues.

Grabar-Kitarovic claims that since the beginning of the mandate, the same policy applies to all neighbours, and thus to Serbia, and that some open issues should not disrupt general relations.

She also announced she expects Aleksandar Vuciq to come to Zagreb next year, but has not said whether he will be present at the beginning of next year. /Periscopi/
