The Pentagon has been running a multi-million secret programme for investigating unidentified flight objects (UFO), American media write, Kosovo reports.
Only a small number of officials have been aware of this programme, which was launched in 2007 and completed in 2012.
Documents from this operation describe aircraft at extraordinary speeds and other air objects, reports the New York Times.
But scientists have been divided into two, clarifying that inexplicable phenomena are not necessarily proof that there is an alien presence.
The programme is said to have cost the U.S. Department of Defense about $20 million before closing due to large expenditures.
