Yıldırım in a written statement has led against the U.S. decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Stressing that this decision is invalid for Turkey, Yıldırım said that “The announcement of Jerusalem for the capital of Israel by the US president and the steps taken in this regard are invalid for the Republic of Turkey. Prime Minister Yıldırım noted that the Islamic Co-operation Organisation (OBI) Summit will convene on December 13th. “Turkey, as the current leader, has decided on December 13th to host the OBI Summit. The issue will be discussed with leaders of the Islamic world, in all its dimensions and will be decided on the relevant steps that must be taken”, he said.
