Initiators of this initiative urgently call on Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj to stop this cruel act forever and to ask Kosovo police to take measures against dog match organisers and dog abuse for matches.
This petition suggests that the next match will take place in Fire on 17 December this year.
Below, you find the request to sign this petition and link to sign it.
U n GURENTS: The next dog match will take place in Firaj/Kosovo on December 17th 2017.
We ask the Prime Minister, Mr. President. Ramush Haradinaj, stop this cruel act forever and instruct all police forces to take action against dog-game organisers and dog abuse for matches!
Instead of being tolerated by such cruel acts, acts that affect people's minds and their willingness to accept the murder of living things, we ask Mr. Prime Minister to review a law on animal protection, which severely condemns any cases of cruelty to animals and any such organisation.
Dog fights are “sport” blood, where two dogs are used against each other in a match place and where they are forced to tear each other apart in a deadly fight for “agation” and monetary benefit to spectators who place bets which in the United States is illegal. Also, participating in dog matches is considered a criminal offence in any civilized state. Even in Kosovo no such thing should be allowed, and with your help we can fight to end this phenomenon.
They make them fight and let them die:
Dogs are extremely social and need love, attention, and exercise. They feel good in an environment that offers the company of other dogs and caregivers. Dogs used for matches are held in chains, ridiculed, and almost starving to develop extreme survival instincts to encourage aggressiveness.
What happens in dog fights:
Dog fights tend to be very secretive. Information about the development site is distributed eitherally or by listening or via the Internet. Participants can gather at one location and move massively to another country, so that they themselves do not know where they will go until they arrive at home. Abandoned houses, garages, brands and fields serve as places where dog matches are held that can be quickly evacuated in case of unexpected police control.
Dogs are valued according to their “gutation”, their ability to continue the match even after pain and blood loss have caused their shock.
Wounded dogs are often not treated after being wounded and die amid pain and agony.
The next dog match in Kosovo will take place in Firaj, on December 17, 2017, at the restaurant Kantinaı, at 10:00 p.m. to prevent it!
