The deputy head of the Assembly from the LDK ranks, Kujtim Shala, has said he and LDK knew nothing in advance of Friday's events in the Kosovo Assembly regarding the attempt to abolish the Special Court.
Whatever we saw, we saw it together, for the part that hasn't been seen, I don't know any more around here tonight.
Neither the LDK nor I, with as much communication as I had that night and days after Friday, LDK has had no information”.
I can say that the situations were very unknown, came suddenly, seemed dramatic, especially when we realize that all of it was connected to an important, very serious and difficult issue for Kosovo that we are facing over the last 5-6 years”.
Shala has said the LDK has understood this initiative by some Kosovo Parliamentary deputies when the Speaker of the Parliament has called the Assembly of Headship.
“We have understood after announcing the chairman of the Parliament's headship to make known the object of the headship meeting”.
There's been a whisper in the room about something like this, but before it was formalized, we can't say we've had definite and accurate information”.
He has declared that no LDK deputy is part of deputies signed in the initiative to abolish the Special Court in the Kosovo Assembly.
“The LDK didn't even know about that.
Shala has said further in Kosovo that the LDK has gathered shortly after informing of this initiative in the Assembly and has taken a stand.
And then, right after that, since we were almost all there, we contacted the party chairman and co-ordinated our actions, we made public the position of the LDK and the parliamentary group that has been the common position”.
Friday night, the LDK office in the Kosovo Assembly became the position of US Ambassador Greg Delawie and British Ruairi O'Connell.
But Shala says nothing was discussed with them in particular, as the LDK had already taken a stand regarding this development.
“We have had several meetings, but the first meeting with them has been held nearly 2 hours after the conference where we made public our”.
Not anything, that we had made the public stand, a little bit more specific was that we wanted quiet, take that job carefully, and try to get political subjects and institutions to talk and see how to solve”.
