The Israeli Army's “Forces arrested 22 Palestinians after raiding their homes in the village of Kasra near Nablus in the northern part of the West Coast. Seven others were arrested by the central and northern cities of the West Coast, in Ramallah and Jenen”, the Palestinian Prisoners' Association reports.
According to this association, the Israeli Army has also arrested six Palestinians from occupied eastern Jerusalem. The Israeli Army often implements extensive arrest campaigns in the West Coast on the pretext for investigating the “palestinian wanted”.
According to official Palestinian figures, over 6,400 Palestinians are currently in custody throughout Israel.
Otherwise, the recent arrests come amid tensions in Palestinian territories following US President Donald Trump's decisions, to officially recognise Jerusalem as Israel's <x) capital “and the transfer of the American Embassy to this city, even though UN Security Council resolution in 1980 does not recognise the annexation of East Jerusalem and its proclamation as capital. / AA/
