Rama leaves the tides either in Brussels: We want to marry the EU

Prime Minister Edi Rama during the meeting in Brussels praised the EU's contribution to the Balkans.

“Without the EU, we would never have what we have in the Balkans, reconciliations and peace. Therefore, the EU is a driving force towards the future. I don't think without EU integration we would be able to have the reforms we are carrying out. We'd be looking for a real justice system,” said Rama.

The head of the Albanian government said that we are at a critical moment, which he called “Balkan curse”

“The EU will be what we know, as we dream about it, and it seems to be the Balkan curse. That when the EU was in the best form the Balkans were in the worst shape, and now that the Balkans are good, it does not seem that the EU is in the best shape, and that is why we are waiting to achieve its form.

The EU dream of being part, of what it mentions, the rule of law, this is about being an EU that represents unique values, in times when we have a unique opportunity to marry the EU, it will tell us if I marry”, Rama said.

Even if the opening of negotiations doesn't happen soon, it will help us grow healthy. I don't understand politicians in any country who say they want Europe to become one day, but at the moment we have something we have to deal with, with our people who are nervous about enlargement,” he said.
