Despite the current situation, parliamentary parties have disagreements to ratify the demarcation agreement as the last condition for visa liberalisation, chief diplomat Behgjet Pacolli believes that in the first part of 2018 Kosovars will move freely.
“I hope the year 2018 will be a year when citizens move freely. I very much hope that in the first part of the year and 2018 it will be the year with which we will certainly mark the history of our citizenship”, Pacolli said.
But for liberalisation to take place Pacolli claims that despite the unfair condition set by the European Commission for Kosovo, border demarcation agreement with Montenegro must be ratified in the assembly.
Currently, Kosovo is the only country in the Balkans that still has no free visa regime.
Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro have won their liberalisation in 2009 and Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2010.
