Important News From Customs Regarding New Automobile Rules

Kosovo customs through a post on its Facebook page has made an interesting announcement about new vehicle regulations. “Since on January 01, 2018 begins with the practical application of the N.S.
Because by January 01st 2018, it begins with the practical application of the No.05 L-132 Automotive Law, we inform you that starting on January 1, 2018, all M1 category cars older than 10 years and those that do not have the engine of the euro standard 4 cannot be exaggerated in the Republic of Kosovo”, the statement said.
Customs reports that on the occasion of determining old age to be taken to base for the first year of registration, which should be within January 01st, January 31st, 2008.
“This means that all vehicles which were registered for the first time in this period of 2008 and meet the conditions for releasing gases according to the standard set by EURO 4 can be imported to Kosovo. The only institution in Kosovo, which has the potential for determining gas emissions levels, is the institution authorised for counterpartialisation {European”, the report says further.
This stop doesn't apply to import:
1. Motor transport vehicles
2. Autodes imported in temporary import procedure (IM5),
3. Cars for Use by Diplomatic Missions (law No. 03/033, and
4. Museum value cars (old timer).
