The joint currency has continued to decline in the domestic market even during today. According to the Bank of Albania's official course, one euro was returned today at 133.13, reaching the highest level since the last days of August.
Market actors claim that the decline is related to seasonal effects, as it always does at the end of the year. Eighty immigrants increase currency bid in the market, causing the euro to lose points towards the local currency.
Another factor, according to experts, relates to the fact that this year, businessmen have made last year shopping since November, which has led to no high demand for currency in December.
The approach of the 20th year as a month is accompanied by increased currency exchanges by foreign companies operating in Albania, or by local ones who receive money revenues, which rush to make social insurance payments.
Traditionally, the euro is depreciated on the domestic market until the last days of the year, while January is accompanied by strengthening the common currency.
The dollar, which has dropped to $112.47, has been accompanied by a sharp decline, reflecting on the fact that the local currency is strong.
For all who have decided to spend the weekend out there, that is good news, while with the same amount of money they will receive more money, both euros and dollars.
The good news is also for creditors who have a loan for both money and dollars.
While bad news is for those paid in euros and will have to turn euros into money to spend on the domestic market, the monitor writes.
In the economy, the depreciation of the euro negatively affects exporters, but on the other side makes imports cheaper, affecting price reductions. The government will also have lower costs in external debt service.
