NATO allies and partner countries began helping Albania this week, which has faced the largest floods ever recorded in the country, a North Atlantic alliance report said.
“Albania requested assistance from the alliance's Centre for Co-ordination of Disasters Response (EADRCC) on December 4th, following torrential rains in the centre and south of the country. According to Albanian authorities, the floods damaged more than 4,500 buildings, 36 energy transformers and dozens of” roads, the announcement said.
NATO's <x0). Bulgaria, France, Montenegro, Slovenia, Slovakia and Austria offered their assistance, including rescue teams, generators and tents”, add to it.
Another” NATO allies are considering additional assistance to the coming days”, the announcement noted.
EADRCC is the main mechanism of NATO for such situations.
