A vote did not pass the amendment that would force the Kosovo government to pay assistants or supplementary teachers for children with special needs in public schools.

At Friday's parliamentary session, 42 MPs voted against, while 41 others in favour of this amendment initiated by Vetevendosje MP Arberie Nagavci, KTV reports.

Nagavci says this situation is disturbing, and the non-paying of these state assistants means that children with special needs are being overlooked by society.

“I think it was completely a total responsibility and the amount was not inex1>, Nagavci says.

This decision on the Parliament has left the parents of the 6 thousand and 195 children registered in their extensive education without hope.

So far, even furthermore, they will have to pay their assistants for their children who for many are unaffordable.

In the category of children with special needs, there are also children with recent development and who are often harder to manage for teachers.

The fall of this amendment also rejected the promise of Education Minister Shyqi Bytyqi, who pledged to work harder for these students.

Numerous parents have complained in the municipalities where they live, but municipal officials have blamed him at the Ministry of Education. The Ministry of Education did not accept this responsibility, and as often happens, no one's fault remains.

If that amendment were adopted, it was required by the government to allocate 739 thousand and 200 euros for a total of 150 such workers.

From that figure, 100 psychologists-pedagage could be paid at the gross salary of 426 euros, which is a total of 511 thousand and 200 euros. It could also engage 50 children's assistants with special needs with a gross salary of 380 euros, which is a total of 228 thousand euros.
