Lushtaku health situation postpones KEK tender trial

The judgment on KEK's 6 million tender was postponed because one of the accused- Sami Lushtaku found that he is not well.

Lushtaku's poor condition first in court was indicated by his lawyer Arian Koci.

I regret to inform the court that my defense does not feel well. I can't talk about the nature of his illness in a public session, but it's a notary fact that Mr. Lushtaku has health problems that several years”, Koci said.

The lawyer indicated further that Lushtak's condition deteriorated in the morning, but indicated he insisted that he come to court himself to clarify his state of health.

Lushtaku, as his lawyer, also indicated that his condition has been poor for a long time.

Then the court approved the lawyer Koci's proposal for delaying this session.

In this trial process, Esat Tahiri and Milazim Lushtaku are charged with fraud, former KEK Procurement Director Driton Prusti, KEK director Arben Gjukaj, former head of the OSHP, Hysni Hoxha, is accused of misuse of official position or authorisation, while Sami Lushtaku is accused of pushing for abuse of the official duty of Azem Duraku is accused of inciting abuse.

The 6 million tender was linked to KEK's security facilities. Investigations regarding the case had been launched on October 5, 2012, while the indictment was set up on January 16, 2015.
