LDK MP testimony against Kurti, three other deputies

Democratic League of Kosovo MP (LDK), Armend Zemaj, has stated that he does not know which of his colleagues from the Movement “Determinition” has thrown tear gas into the country's plenary hall space of the legislature.

MP Zemaj has given his testimony Thursday at the Constitutional Court in Pristina in the trial of four deputies Albin Kurti, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, Albulen Haxhiu and Faton Topalli.

Witness Zemaj has said that tear gas has been thrown in front of the Parliament's speaker, but you don't know who did it.

He added that there were no personal problems with gas emissions.

As in previous hearings, even this Thursday, the chairman of the court, Becir Kaluldra, has not allowed the witness to answer some of the questions of accused Albin Kurti, naming them out of the charge.

Kurt's questions had to do what had prompted opposition MPs at the time to act that way, throwing tear gas in the Assembly.

So far their testimony in this court process has been given by MPs Xhavit Haliti, Bekim Haxhiu, Blerta Deliu Kodra, Flora Brovina, Naser Osmani, and Nuredin Ibishi.

The VV's four deputies are being charged by the prosecution for criminal acts “the use of weapons” and “obstructing the official person during the performance of the official task”, actions related to the drop of tear gas into Kosovo's Assembly spaces.

The Act against them by the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina has been established on December 16th 2015.

In past sessions four MPs have been declared innocent of the charges charged.

In addition, for throwing tear gas into the Kosovo Assembly, co-chaired deputies Ismajli and Ismail Kurteshi from Vetevendosje and Haxhi Shala are also charged by the Kosovo Initiative. /Justice Trust/
