UN: Kosovo stop citizens from joining terrorists

The United Nations calls on authorities in Kosovo to have a clear strategy to stop potential fighters from joining Islamic extremists in Syria and Iraq and to offer more opportunities for employment and education.
In an independent report authorised by the United Nations, foreign-run fighters have been examined and the causes that influenced Kosovars to join extremist groups, the AP agency reports.
In the report, it is also required by Kosovo and international organs to develop better policies on preventing violent extremism.
According to Kosovo police, 335 citizens had travelled or taken to the streets to conflict areas in Syria and Iraq since 2012, the AP agency reported.
