Kosovars in third place of marriage for Swiss

The number of marriages linked to Switzerland between Swiss and foreign partners has doubled over the past 30 years.

But sexual preferences vary.

Thus, since Swiss men choose German women for partners, Swiss women prefer Italians for partners.

While Kosovo men are in third place on the list of Swiss women's marriage preferences, as are Kosovo women in the third place of Swiss men.

This results from a study published today by the Federal Bureau of Statistics ( BfS, writes albinfo.ch.

By 2016, there were 15,100 marriages with foreign partners, or more than a third of all marriages connected within the year.

While marriages in which the two partners are Swiss have decreased by about one third over the past 30 years, a total of 19,800.

According to the study in Switzerland today, about 10 percent of married people live in a business partnership or in a business family.

Couples where the husband is Swiss and the woman, a stranger, continue to make up the majority, while in general, members of both genders choose more often partners from Europe, broadcast albinfo.ch.

Thus, Swiss men favour the Germans and after them the Italians and Kosovars. The French and Serbs come in line, in fourth and fifth place.
