The Kosovo Producers Club (KPK) has welcomed the Ministry of Trade and Industry's decision to impose safeguard clauses on imports for shale construction materials.
The Kosovo Producers Club, through a communique, says that following the analysis of the shale-building and consulting market with local producers, they have found it necessary to include several other products from the clay on the initial list.
Kosovo Producers' “Klub and the Association of Construction Material Producers from Argjila has submitted the request to the MTI to include several other clay building materials on the list of safeguard clauses in imports. Decision 01 Ref. No. 10 dead. 28.12.2017 released by MTI Minister Mr. Bajram Hasani presents a strong support to local clay producers and also bans the sale of material from clay coming from Serbia and is sold under the market price, even its price of production. The decision in question does not prohibit the arrival of such products from Serbia, but prevents a serious and general damage to the position of local producers, the country's economy and therefore jeopardises competition in the free market. This decision also has an important symbol because it supports the construction of Kosovo with construction materials produced in the country. K The PK thanks the Ministry of Trade and Industry for this important decision”, said the communique.
At the same time, The KKP supports and encourages the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to continue in the future with such public policies supporting local producers.
