Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish said six civilians in a car were killed when the attacker blew himself up. “Six people were martyred and three others injured”, he said
“They were hit when they passed the area on their Toyota Sedan vehicle. We still don't know the target of the attack, but it happened on the main path “he added.
The health ministry confirmed the death toll, but placed the number of wounded in one.
There was no immediate plea for responsibility for the recent attack on Kabul, which in recent months has become one of the deadliest countries in the war-torn country for civilians.
A “Agence France-Presse” journalist at the blast site said the attack occurred outside the main entrance to a complex NDS. Security forces filled the area by closing the main road leading to the building.
Ambulances have been seen leaving the scene, apparently taking victims to hospitals in the city.
Our initial “Information shows that an explosion occurred near an intelligence headquarters in the Shash Darak neighbourhood in Kabul”, Interior Ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi told AFP
Last week's attack on the NDS was claimed by the Islamic State, which has expanded its presence in Afghanistan since its appearance in the region in 2015.
It has improved its attacks in Kabul, including those in the country's Shia minority.
Europe has berated for moving Afghans to one of the most dangerous places in the world
