The conflict has forced 1.7 million people to flee their homes in the Democratic Republic of Congo this year, triggering a <x0mega-crisa”>, aid agencies say.
According to them, Congo, for the second year in a row, is the most affected country.
Congo, for years, is unstable, as rival militias fight for control of the territory.
The conflict has deteriorated following the failure to organise elections last year.
It's a mega-crysis. The rate of people fleeing violence is outside the charts, exceeds Syria, Yemen and Iraq”, said the director of the Norwegian Council of Refugees in Congo, Ulrika Blom, REL.
An estimated 5,500 people a day have fled their homes in Congo this year in a report published by the Centre for Interior Monitoring./Periscope.
