Prizren Mayor Mytaher Haskuka has taken his oath at Prizren's Municipal Assembly today, Kosovo reports.
Haskuka said he hopes those who today boycotted the solemn session start with a more constructive opposition.
The Prizren municipality has many accumulated problems”, Haskuka said, which he confirmed cannot solve alone, so it required co-operation with all institutions, with civil society as well as with businesses.
I expect from today that I will try to have a direct democracy”.
Some assemblyists did not attend when Haskuka was sworn in as chairman, for which he said that trying to get out of a solemn event did not take place in any other municipality, and that is not good.
On the other hand, he said he would work on improving the economic situation jointly with businesses, with the Parisians, but more with the diaspora, which he said is interested in investing in Prizren.
“We will increase subsidies in agriculture”, Haskuka said, while in tourism promised that they would jointly protect this city's historical heritage.
“State of Education and Health will jointly improve”.
Haskuka promised an open municipality, and with transparent and effective administration.
