Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has visited the Kosovo Energy Corporation in the early hours of the morning, where it was announced by the management for the current electricity supply situation.

The aim of the visit is to see what the production situation is like, what is expected from now until March, how much we produce, how much we buy, and what capacity we are at”, Prime Minister Haradinaj said.

Also, Prime Minister Haradinaj during this visit is also interested in the displacement of Shippitula residents, the rest of Mirena neighbourhood.

The situation is under control. From now on, we'll buy electricity because coal reserves are few to work all units, but the situation is stable. I made pledges from the management that will increase the commitment of continued 24-hour custody from now until March”, the prime minister said.

Prime Minister Haradinaj did not deny the energy crisis Kosovo has, saying the situation is difficult, despite the fact that there are fewer reductions in the capital.

“Under residences, in remote villages reductions are greater, but greater deterioration of the situation is not expected. This is not the right situation, but we are suffering the consequences of not working in the past”, Prime Minister Haradinaj said.

Meanwhile, KEK Managing Director Arben Djukaj after thanking the prime minister for his commitment said the Kosovo Energy Corporation has faced a challenge which is among the main or biggest challenges since the war, which is expropriation.

“Thanks to the government's commitment, relevant ministries and municipality, we have managed to complete the property registration yesterday and expect that within this week we will finally complete it and start at work”, Djukaj director said.
