UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, in his New Year's message, called for more unity in 2018.
“Nationalism and xenophobia are on the rise, inequality is growing, climate change is accelerating and the world sees terrible human rights violations. Global concern over nuclear weapons has been the largest since the Cold War”, Guterres said.
He said the role in the UN took in hope that 2017 would be a year of peace, but was the opposite.
Unfortunately, the world has gone against fundamental ways. I make a warning, a red alarm in our world”, Guterres added.
He called for unity so that “conflicts can be resolved, hatred overcome, and mutual values protected”. /21Media
