Floods and landslides, provoked by the passage of the tropical Chempaca Cyclone on the Indonesian island of Java, have so far caused 25 deaths, the disaster management agency reported today.

Cempaca cycle nearly ruined the Pacitan district in the province of East Java, leaving behind more than 1,700 homes destroyed, and provoking the deportation of more than 2,000 people.

“Meanwhile, many farms breeding cows or sheep were completely destroyed”, the agency said.
