The charges of Simmons and those of former prosecutor Mariah Bamieh, two years ago, have been assessed as expression of missions that are on the verge of dissolution. Even EULEX's promise that before justice it would put the big “balances down” did not come true. A few days before the proclamation of judgment on one of the largest cases of corruption against Fatmir Limaj and others, British Judge Malcolm Simmons erupted on charges against the mission, which he served for many years.
In the article published in “Le Monde”, Simmons also mentioned Limaj, saying the case was set. According to him, EULEX wanted the collapse of a part of the political class, including former PDK senior official Limaj.
A few days after the British judge's statements, the court acquitted Limaj and others of millions' corruption at the Ministry of Transport in a marathon process that lasted nearly eight years
