Israeli soldiers have arrested 16-year-old Palestinian Ahed Temimi, who for the courage and resistance shown was rewarded with “The price of the Handitela”, the Anadolu Agency (AA) reports.
Hilmi Temimi, activist from the Palestinian People's Resistance Committee, told AA that soldiers have organised raids this morning at the house where Ahed Themimi lives with his family, while later arrested him.
Themim said the soldiers have not informed about the location Ahed has been sent.
The causes of her arrest are still unknown, while Israeli media yesterday published images as Ahed expels soldiers in front of her home.
Known as the bold “Palestinian”, Ahed in Istanbul had received the “Award of the Handala Courage” because of the courage she had shown against Israeli soldiers in 2012 while arresting her brother.
Ahed, who was recognised in world opinion as “the girl who challenged Israeli soldier”, had also met with Turkey's president, Recep Tayip Erdoğan, at the time he was prime minister.
